FD Sub Surface Electronic Drum Filling Machines
Electronic Drum Fillers FD Sub Surface
Range of Products:
Any non foaming food. petroleum or chemical product which will flow, settle out in the container and does not contain hard solids. Machines are available in Brass & Steel (standard), 316 Stainless Steel, 304 Sanitary Stainless Steel, or PVC product contact parts to suit a wide range of products.
Range of Containers:
Any free standing metal, glass, plastic or bag in drum container from 15 gallon (50 liters) to 55 gallon (220 liters). Filling lances are available for containers with openings as
Based on the gravity filling of water from a 10 ft. (3 meter) head tank into open top containers.
CONTAINERS PER HOUR*
|Container Size||Per Hour|
|16 Gallons / 60 litres||120|
|30 Gallons / 120 litres||90|
|55 Gallons / 220 litres||60|
*Actual rate depends on container opening size, product viscosity and supply system.
The 1000 lb. (500kg.) scale is a proven heavy duty design, specially adapted for the filling operation. Accuracy of the filler is +/- .1 of a pound when the machine is properly installed and operated.
Machines are shipped complete and assembled and can be quickly installed by your plant personnel. No special foundation is necessary. Simply place the machine in its operating location level with jacks as needed, connect the electric cord to any clean grounded 110 vac 50/60 hi. receptacle, connect plant air to the filter, regulator, lubricator, and connect the product supply hose to the 2” npt thread at the feed pipe.
Supply Of Product:
The machine may be supplied from any source which will provide a non-surging flow. Supply line pressure may be from gravity to 40 p.s.i.g.
Sturdy design and construction guarantees many years of service. No special tools are necessary to make adjustments.
The machine is equipped with a quick shut-off that interrupts the fill. It also features a tail-safe to shut off the flow of product if air pressure is lost. See other available options.
One operator, no special skills necessary.
Change of Container:
To change the container, simply enter the new cut-off weight on the scale controller and adjusts the height of the filling head. If the container opening is a different size, the filling nozzle may be quickly changed.
Operator simply enters set-point 1 (dribble flow) weight and set-point 2 (target weight) shy of the target allowing product in motion to be weighed. The operator than places the container on the fill platforms under the fill lance and presses the start button. At this time the scale automatically tares the weight of the container. The drip pan retracts and the lance descends When the lance reaches the bottom of the drum ,it opens and begins to fill. The lance remains at the bottom of the drum for a short time, then slowly rises to its safety stop inside the drum to await shut off. As the drum approaches shut off weight, the dribble flow reduces the flow rate to increase accuracy. When the drum reaches shut off weight, the lance closes, rises and the drip pan moves below the lance. The operator pushes the container off the roller platform conveyor and places another container for filling.
Approximate Air Requirements:
3 cu.ft. / min. @ 80 p.s.i. or 12 s.c.f m. @ 80 p.s.i. (80 ltr / min @ 5.6 kg/sq.cm.) per container filled.
110/120 volts 50/60 hz., single phase, grounded, clean. We suggest using a surge protector. The scale controller classification is NEMA 4 X, liquid tight.
Cylinders exhaust though ports with mufflers. A level less than 20dh at 3 ft. (1 meter).
Change Of Containers:
To change container, adjust the height of the filling head using the rack and gear system.
Change Of Products:
To change products, the filling head may be drained and flushed with solvent. For a complete cleaning the filling head may be easily disassembled by in plant personnel - no technician is required.
On machines with PVC contact parts product line pressure is limited to 15 p.s.i.g. greater pressure can cause damage to the filler and possible injury to the operator.
Infeed Discharge Conveyor:
4 ft. to 10ft gravity conveyor suggested for sustanined use to ease loading and discharging of filled containers.
316 Stainless Steel wetted parts with glass/Teflon gaskets and Titanium wetted parts with glass/Teflon gaskets are available for the chemical industries. PVC with tygon gaskets for high corrosives and UHMD is also available. 304 Sanitary Stainless Steel for the food industrial when required.
304 Stainless Steel
Two part (Tile Clad tm.) Epoxy Spray coated steel or SteelIt Om. Stainless Steel spray coated steel
A PVC or UHMW fume cover is provided with a 3/4" X 10' long flex hose for connection to your plant vacuum system. This removes fumes from around the container while filling, directly at the opening. Not applicable for open top drums.
Operator Splash Guard:
To protect the operator from direct spray in the event of an accidental overfill, we suggest that all operators should wear proper eye protection at all times while operating
should any filling machine.
For use in hazardous environment NEC classifications Class I. Div. 1, Groups C&D Class 11 . Div. 1, Groups E,F&G Class III
Several printers are available for labels. cards and tape. Various printers offer features including net, gross and tare values as well as batch time and accumulation information.
3 feet clearance behind the drum filler is required
